HGA has been working on clean energy sector development for over 15 years. Our experience derives from ground-level, greenfield development efforts, trailblazing in the emerging markets of Asia. We have originated, structured, contracted and sought capital for projects in wind, solar and biomass power generation. We have worked on carbon accounting within projects and amongst portfolios, including developing a new UNFCCC carbon methodology. We have experience creating the modeling necessary to appropriately project energy production and carbon reductions from inherently variable sources.
The tabs below provide a sampling of clean energy project work completed.
Clean Energy Experience

- Oil seed plantation and agricultural residue, Philippines – working in conjunction with oil seed and coconut farmers to process crops and crop residue into 100 million litres per year of Clean Diesel for use in displacing fossil diesel in power generation.
- Municipal Solid Waste Processing, Philippines – using non-recyclable plastic, paper, wood and organic biomass waste streams from Metro Manila to produce 300 million litres per year of Clean Diesel for use in fleet vehicles and power.
- Timber plantation offcuts and purpose-grown energy crops, Thailand – in a PPP arrangement with Government of Thailand agencies, evolved a portfolio of distributed biomass-derived diesel production facilities to sustainably utilize woody biomass feedstock from existing and rehabilitated forest plantations covering 100,000 ha to yield biodiesel production of circa 300 million litres per year.
For a confidential European technology provider, managed research team for delivery of in-depth market assessments CSP technology in India, China and Thailand. Quantified market potential, price points, and performance needs.
Strategic work included scouting for localized component manufacturing, developing realistic installation costing, competitor screening and joint venture local partner identification for both EPC and project development. Assisted client to approach prospective partners.
